122ND SCGA AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

 QUALIFYING INFORMATION

 

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

 

POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:

Prior to participating, participants must review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures and COVID-19 Guidelines for Competitions.

 

FORMAT:

  • All players will participate in an 18-hole stroke-play qualifier.
  • Qualifiers will advance to the 122nd SCGA Amateur Championship at Virginia CC in Long Beach, CA on July 8 – 11, 2021.
  • The final number of qualifying spots at each site will be available from the Committee on the day of play.
  • All ties at the qualifier will be broken using the USGA suggested method of matching scorecards (Committee Procedures: Section 5A (6)).

 

STARTING TIMES & PAIRINGS:

  • Starting times and pairings will be emailed to players and posted online at scga.org/amateur one week in advance of the qualifier.
  • There will not be a player registration process on the morning of the qualifier.
  • Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off. Players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late.
  • Certain supplies, such as tees and hole location sheets, will not be distributed until further notice.

   

DRIVING RANGE:

  • The driving range at each site will be available one hour prior to the first starting time. Range balls will be provided.
  • Players should arrive on-site no earlier than one hour prior to their starting time and should limit driving range usage to 15 minutes.

 

TEES & YARDAGES:

  • Refer to the Yardage Information section on the Event Portal for hole-by-hole yardages.
  • The tee marker color to be used at each site is listed below in the qualifying site-specific information.

 

 

QUALIFYING SITE-SPECIFIC INFORMATION

 

ARROYO TRABUCO GC:

  • Practice Rounds: Contact the golf shop at (949) 305-5100 or go to arroyotrabuco.com to schedule a practice round. Standard rates apply.
  • Tee Markers: Play will be from the BLACK tee markers.
  • Food Service & Purchases: The restaurant will be available by 8 a.m. for to-go orders and patio dining. Cash and reciprocal charge will be accepted for all purchases.

 

BROOKSIDE GC:

  • Practice Rounds: Contact the golf shop at (626) 585-3598 or go to brooksidegc.com to schedule a practice round. Standard rates apply.
  • Tee Markers: Play will be from BLUE tee markers.
  • Food Service & Purchases: Due to COVID restrictions, the restaurant will not open until 11 a.m. (patio dining only). Grab and go items will be available beginning at 6:30 a.m. Breakfast burritos will be the only warm food item available for breakfast. Cash and major credit cards will be accepted for all purchases.
  • Spectators: Spectators are currently not permitted to attend events at Brookside GC due to COVID restrictions.

 

EL DORADO PARK GC:

  • Practice Rounds: Contact the golf shop at (562) 430-5411 or go to eldoradoparkgc.com to schedule a practice round. Standard rates apply.
  • Tee Markers: Play will be from BLACK tee markers.
  • Food Service & Purchases: The restaurant will be open at 7 a.m. (patio dining only). Cash and major credit cards will be accepted for all purchases.
  • Caddies and Spectators: Caddies and spectators are currently not permitted to attend events at El Dorado Park GC due to COVID restrictions.

 

LOS SERRANOS GC:

  • Practice Rounds: Contact the golf shop at (626) 585-3598 or go to losserranosgolfclub.com to schedule a practice round. Standard rates apply.
  • Tee Markers: Play will be from BLUE tee markers.
  • Food Service & Purchases: The Snack Bar will be available from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. for to-go orders. Only major credit cards will be accepted.

 

OAK VALLEY GC:

  • Practice Rounds: Contact the golf shop at (951) 727-7700 or go to oakvalleygolf.com to schedule a practice round. Standard rates apply.
  • Tee Markers: Play will be from BLUE tee markers.
  • Golf Carts: Golf carts are required at this particular qualifying site ($15 per player).
  • Food Service & Purchases: The Snack Bar will be not be available. Please come prepared with water and snacks, as needed. Vending Machines are available on-site for limited purchases.

 

SHADOWRIDGE GC:

  • Practice Rounds: Contact the golf shop at (760) 727-7700 or go to shadowridge.com to schedule a practice round. Green fees: $80 per player; Cart fee: $17 per player.
  • Tee Markers: Play will be from BLACK tee markers.
  • Food Service & Purchases: The Snack Bar will be available from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. for to-go orders. Only major credit cards will be accepted for all purchases.

 

SOULE PARK GC:

  • Practice Rounds: Contact the golf shop at (805) 646-5633 or go to souleparkgc.com to schedule a practice round. Standard rates apply.
  • Tee Markers: Play will be from OAK tee markers.
  • Food Service & Purchases: The snack bar will open at 7 a.m. (patio dining only). Only major credit cards will be accepted.

 

 

RULES OF PLAY

 

RULES OF PLAY:

  • The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and The R&A govern play.
  • Local Rules and Terms of the Competition can be found on the SCGA Hard Card and the Notice to Players that will be emailed to players the day prior to the qualifier.

GOLF CARTS & PULL/PUSH CARTS:

  • During a round, a player must not ride on any form of motorized transportation except as authorized or later approved by the Committee. Model Local Rule G-6.
  • Exception: Oak Valley GC (see site-specific information above).
  • Players seeking to use a golf cart due to a medical or ADA-related reason must contact the SCGA in advance of the qualifier.
  • Pull or push carts (including motorized pull or push carts) are allowed.

 

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

  • Players may provide their own caddie (see section on Golf Carts).
  • Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the club.
  • Caddies and spectators must wear face coverings whenever it is not possible to guarantee six feet of distance from another person.

 

DRESS CODE:

Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any club-specific policies.

 

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:

  • To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of a SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org or (818) 980-3630.
  • Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
  • Refund Policy:
    • Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $10 administrative fee.
    • Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
    • Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
